Since its founding in 1971, Uniport has been an independent container terminal operator in the urbanised area of the Port of Rotterdam. This independence has enabled the company to steadily expand its activities over the last 40 years. The first shareholders were Kühne + Nagel International A.G., Schindelleggi/Switzerland from 1971 until 2000. Matrans B.V. Rotterdam was shareholder from 2000 till 2004. C. Steinweg Handelsveem, Rotterdam has been the shareholder since 2004. This worldwide logistics organisation was founded back in 1847. C. Steinweg Handelsveem is approved by the London Metal Exchange (LME) as a provider of handling and warehousing for approved brands of base metals. C.
